Over the past few years we have installed 2 Memory Trees for Cornwall Hospice Care at Mount Edgcumbe in St Austell & St Julia's in Hayle. As I am currently working on another metalwork commission I thought I would share details of how these pieces developed & how you can order your own leaf from CHC.
My latest work 'Metallic texture' is a combination of unique copper & brass designs. Each individual cut out piece has a one-off surface. Inspired by Barbara Hepworth & Troika pottery the framed assemblages have a 'retro' feel.
I thought I would document my design process for a new collection of jewellery which has been several years in the making. Creating the 'master' patterns from metal which will be reproduced using the lost wax casting process.
The oak project or 'Lightening Dancer' is a project I worked on with artist James Eddy at the Lost Gardens of Heligan. This involved the creation of over 500 copper oak leaves which are now on permanent display in the Stewards House within the garden.
One of the things which inspire my work is RUST! I thought I would share a few images & also mention a new studio on the horizon.
