A little red squirrel cheeky face brooch created by Sharon McSwiney. Handcrafted in St Ives, Cornwall.
The squirrel brooch features spirals of wire on the bushy tail. A happy little design to bring a smile.
The oxidised copper colour finish is applied to a brass base. Details are then brush finished to highlight the designs. The brooch is then lacquered to protect the surface. Due to the handmade nature of this item there may be slight variations in colour & texture to the example shown.
The brooch approx weight is 9g. The catch mechanism will keep the brooch safe while being worn. Looks great on a jacket or jumper/sweater.

Obviously in the UK we have mainly a grey squirrel population which I do like but the native red squirrels are so cute! We were lucky enough to visit the Isles of Scilly a couple of years ago and there is a resident population of red squirrels on Tresco Island. There were several feeding stations so we were able to see them quite closely.
