It was great delight that we were ready & able to open our new gallery space on Monday! It had been quite a rush to get the space ready in time with painting inside & out, sanding the floor, new signage & obviously moving all the stock/cabinets etc over from the Drill Hall.
We now have a lovely bright & airy gallery space to display our work. The newly painted white walls are a great background to the metalwork & latest abstract paintings. It is amazing how different pieces look in a new environment.
We still intend to exhibit the work of selected other makers such as Emily Stracey, Jill Parteger, Roy Dutton & Driftwood Clay birds. Yesterday we took delivery of some of Jo Soar’s wonderful felt creations too however you had better be quick as one sold first thing this morning!
Tim will be ‘on duty’ most days but I hope to be down too from time to time. My studio needs a good sort out before I can start making again - things rather got dumped in there during the move.
There is still a good selection of work just down the road too at Back Road Artworks much closer than the Drill Hall used to be. An exhibition is booked for the first week of June at the St Ives Arts Club so that is the next project to work towards.
Our opening times will vary a little until the summer so please check with us that we’ll be there if you are planning a special trip. Please come & say hello if you are in St Ives we look forward to seeing you.
