2024 review in pictures

 

I thought I would share some of the many photographs taken last year…of which there were many!  I have been taking a look at several thousand images on my phone to remind myself of what we got up to in 2024.

My excuse for taking so many photographs is that I use it as a visual diary. Often we forget what we have done & I enjoy looking back to explore things again.

What follows is a few highlights of creativity, exhibitions, natural inspiration, Cornwall, events & work in progress.

 

JANUARY

* Starting to explore the metallic alchemy range creating plaster reliefs

* We had a sprinkling of snow in St Ives!

* Inspiration at Sennen Cove - fishing boats & rust at Lands End

* Watching the waves at Porthleven

* A rope workshop with Castaway Ropeworks

* Completed another sketchbook

 

 

FEBRUARY

* Metallic texture piece exhibited at the Penwith Gallery (& sold)

* We had a refresh at the gallery & Back Road Artworks

* Started another  #100days project with #100daysofbeachfinds 

* Rusty inspiration at Newlyn Harbour

 

MARCH

* Creating ‘Metallic texture’ sculptures

* Printclub with @pickprettypaints at Porthmeor studios

* Silk scarf samples arrived

* Fabric journal workshop at St Ives library with Vicki Aimers

* Creative break with Jo & Sarah in Branscombe

 

 

APRIL

* Visited Cornwall Flower Show

* Limpet bangles & seaweed rings

* Visiting the Barbara Hepworth garden & enjoying the cherry blossom with the sculptures

* Commission pieces of framed metalwork

 

MAY

* Beautiful sunshine - walk to Newlyn & Mousehole

* Seaweed Festival at Marazion

* Incredible to see the Aurora Borealis - Northern Lights in St Ives

* Celebrated mum's 75th birthday in Broadway

* Completed the #100daysofbeachfinds project

 

JUNE

* Started stocking Ken Spooner's wonderful artwork at the gallery

* Saw Fat Boy Slim at Eden

* Gold limpet jewellery

* Opened our garden for 'St Ives Secret Gardens' event

* Creative break in Appledore with Sarah

 

 

JULY

* Visit to Bruton Museum in Bideford - amazing ceramics

* Automata exhibition at Royal Cornwall Museum

* Minor eye operation 

* Incredible 'Dead Man's Fingers' exhibition at Newlyn Art Gallery

* Printclub with @pickprettypaints at Porthmeor doing lino prints

* Metallic texture sculptures selected for the Penwith Gallery exhibition

 

 

AUGUST

* CRUK show at St Just

* Selected for a Sloop Studios space - to become my creative art studio

* Seaweed pressing workshop at Morrab Library

* Photographed my 'Metallic Alchemy' collection at the wonderful Borlase Smart room - Porthmeor studios

* Collage art cards

 

 

SEPTEMBER

* Sloop studio painted & started to display work in space

* September Festival - exhibited 'Metallic Alchemy' works

* Garden produce from the covered veg patch - fruit cage assembled in May

* Workshop with Sam Reese at the Crypt Gallery

* Limpet browsers proving very popular

 

OCTOBER

* Tim had spinal surgery after a very painful summer

* Visit to Saltram House

* Cancelled exhibition at the St Ives Arts Club

* Visit to Unit 12 exhibition at Porthleven (Tim's first trip out since July)

* Autumn leaves at Trengwainton 

 

NOVEMBER

* Wreath workshop at the Sloop Studios with @pickprettypaints

* #30daysofsketchsquares with @faye_bridgewater

* Metallic Alchemy piece selected for the Penwith Gallery

* Mark - making workshop with Liz Hewitt at the St Ives Arts Club

* Silk scarf order arrived

* Visit to The Box in Plymouth - Planet Ocean exhibition

* Birthday stay at SeaSpace & Lands End Hotel, Fish house meal, Telegraph Museum & met Paddington  

 

 

 

DECEMBER

* Designing a commission piece 'Tree of Life' for completion early 2025

* Limpet & brass limpet decorations

* Festive display at the gallery

* Mevagissey stay - inspiration & delicious meal at Salamander Resturant

* Heligan Night Garden

* Trengwainton Lanterns

* Tim had his hair cut short!

* Christmas tree festival at Worcester Catherdral
