Shows this summer….
It’s been a busy week with the start of the summer holidays bringing an influx of visitors to St Ives. The weather has been amazing but not helpful when trying to use a blow torch! Yesterday we set up 2 displays in one day which was a bit of a task after a late night the day before pricing & labelling everything.
The first stop was St Just for the annual Art & Crafts Exhibition at Cape Cornwall School. This event has been running for over 50 years & is supported by a hardworking group of volunteers in aid of Cancer Research UK. Opening on Wednesday 1st August until Friday 17th August at 10am until 9pm so plenty of opportunities to visit.
I have a selection of metalwork, jewellery (sea creature inspired) & greetings cards here (I did include some shhhhhh Christmas cards this time too). I’m using a new display which Tim create out of our old wardrobes! A great bit of upcycling there.
Cape Cornwall School, St Just TR19 7JX (Admission £1 adults/50p children)
After a quick pit stop for lunch at the Dog & Rabbit it was off up to Mawnan Smith to set up there. I have shown at this event once before 2 years ago & although it is a smaller venue than at St Just there is still a great display of Cornish makers work. This show starts today at 10am & runs for 2 weeks. Again run by a happy band of volunteers & this is the 40th event to take place!
I am showing a display of sea inspired metalwork, animal range of copper jewellery & a good selection of greetings cards.
Open 10am – 6pm Saturday 30th July – Saturday 13th August at the Memorial Hall, Sampys Hill, Mawnan Smith TR11 5EW. (Free Admission)
There is a great display of plants too…I must admit we came away with a couple to squeeze into our cottage garden!
