My latest work 'Metallic texture' is a combination of unique copper & brass designs. Each individual cut out piece has a one-off surface. Inspired by Barbara Hepworth & Troika pottery the framed assemblages have a 'retro' feel.
I thought I would document my design process for a new collection of jewellery which has been several years in the making. Creating the 'master' patterns from metal which will be reproduced using the lost wax casting process.
The oak project or 'Lightening Dancer' is a project I worked on with artist James Eddy at the Lost Gardens of Heligan. This involved the creation of over 500 copper oak leaves which are now on permanent display in the Stewards House within the garden.
A link to 'A day in the life of a metalworker' article by photographer Rick Davy who visited my St Ives garden studio in December last year. Beautiful images created on film for the @cornishlives project.
Less than 2 weeks until my next event & the last one for quite some time! Plans for 2023 ahead but looking forward to a busy Makers Christmas Fair in Penryn Nov 4 to 6 with lots of other lovely makers.
Time for a little catch up after a full on summer in St Ives! Hopefully time to create again over the next few weeks so the website can be restocked with work...
'Harbour lights' is our next event happening at the St Ives Arts Club at the end of this month. Alison Dupernex will be joining myself with her colourful textiles.
On 12th April we opened the doors to our new gallery space in St Ives. An exciting new start in a lovely light airy space to display our metalwork, jewellery & artwork on Island Square.
